Tuscan-Style™ Cantaloupe Basil Honey Dip
Tuscan-Style™ Cantaloupe Basil Honey Dip
Yields 8 servings

Ingredients:

  • ½ of a Dulcinea Tuscan-Style™ Cantaloupe, seeded
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon fresh basil, very finely minced
  • 1 (7 ounce) container crème fraiche
  • Dulcinea Tuscan-Style™ Cantaloupe balls
  • Dulcinea PureHeart® Watermelon balls
  • Fried beet chips*
  • *Peel and very thinly slice fresh beets (using a mandolin is best for thin, even slices). Deep fry in very hot oil until crisp.
  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: 30 minutes

Directions:

  1. Puree ½ cantaloupe in a blender or small food processor.
  2. Line a fine mesh strainer with cheesecloth or a coffee filter and set over a bowl.
  3. Pour cantaloupe puree over cheesecloth and let stand for 30 minutes or until mixture is thick.
  4. Spread crème fraiche in a decorative bowl.
  5. Drizzle with cantaloupe puree, basil and honey.
  6. Drag a knife through mixture in a circular motion to swirl ingredients.
  7. Serve with watermelon and cantaloupe melon balls and beet chips for dipping.
